The two-phase hybrid stepper motor is an open-loop control motor that converts electrical pulse signals into angular displacement or linear displacement. It is the main executive element in modern digital program control systems and is widely used.

Advantages and disadvantages of two-phase hybrid stepper motors:
(1) Advantages:
①It is widely used due to its high resolution (generally the step angle is 1.8°).
② Turn huge.
③Compare with multi-phase hybrid stepper motor. Driving power tubes are used in large quantities but are cheap.
(2) Disadvantages:
① The vibration is large especially at low speeds, and resonance is likely to occur near 60rpm.
②The noise is loud at high speed.
③Compared with multi-phase hybrid stepper motors, the torque fluctuation during half-step is large (1:1.14).
④ Compared with multi-phase motors, stepper motors with the same step angle have large coil impedance and small torque at high speed.
