brushless motor

Brushless Motors are composed of permanent magnet rotors, multi-pole winding stators, position sensors, etc. The position sensor changes the rotor position and commutates the current of the stator winding in a certain order (that is, it detects the position of the rotor pole relative to the stator winding, and generates a position sensing signal at a certain position. After being processed by the signal conversion circuit, it controls the power switch circuit and switches the winding current according to a certain logical relationship). The working voltage of the stator winding is provided by the electronic switch circuit controlled by the output of the position sensor.

As a kind of synchronous motor, the speed of the rotor of the brushless motor is affected by the speed of its stator rotating magnetic field and the number of rotor poles. The DC brushless motor has a series of advantages of AC motors such as simple structure, reliable operation, and convenient maintenance, and it also has many advantages of DC motors such as high operating efficiency and good speed regulation performance. The most important part of the DC brushless motor is its control structure. Its driver can control the rotor to maintain a certain speed, and the performance is more stable. The DC brushless motor is a low-power motor that uses electronic commutation. DC brushless motors are widely used in modern production equipment, instrumentation, computer peripherals and advanced household appliances. So what are the advantages of brushless motors?

High efficiency:

  • The efficiency of general brushless motors can reach more than 96%, while the efficiency of traditional DC motors is generally around 75%; high efficiency, high energy conversion, high conversion of electrical energy into motor rotational mechanical energy, direct performance is energy saving, more than 20% energy saving than traditional motors, if it is a long-term running motor, the use of DC brushless motors can save a motor’s electricity costs in a year, long-term use is more cost-effective, although the initial purchase price of brushless motors is higher than that of general traditional motors, the energy saving effect is very obvious.

Long life:

  • Generally, traditional motors with brushes need to be replaced every once in a while due to the wear of carbon brushes, and maintenance is frequent. The service life of brushless DC motors is generally more than 20,000 hours. Under normal working conditions, it will not be damaged after more than 5 years of use, so the life of brushless DC motors is 5 times that of traditional motors. Low noise; brushless DC motors have a simple structure, and the parts can be precisely matched and installed. The operation is relatively smooth, and the running sound is below 50db. Many medical devices use brushless DC motors because of their silent performance. Traditional motors need to replace carbon brushes, which cannot achieve sealing. The wear of carbon brushes also causes friction noise, which is generally above 60db and cannot meet the requirements of high-quiet equipment.

Brushless motors have fast response, large starting torque, and can provide rated torque from zero speed to rated speed. The motor itself has no excitation loss and carbon brush loss, good comprehensive energy-saving effect, no sparks, and are very suitable for public places, with good anti-interference and safety performance.
